ALPHAS

I had been going on dates with a gal for quite a few dates and we were both wondering if we should go steady. She seemed to think it was a great idea. She told her sister about me and her sister asked questions. I had fulfilled this gals dating guide. I had the attributes needed to satisfy her that a relationship was a good idea. The problem was I didn’t qualify according to her sister’s requirements as well. I could tell the gal liked me but her sister didn’t approve.

As I have observed the groups of people around me they seem to live in packs. There’s often one group an individual spends most of their time in and each group has an alpha. Alphas are the ones who determine whether themselves or anyone else under their dominion can have a relationship. This can have either a positive or negative effect on dating.

In junior high I would hang out at a skating rink with a neighbor you could say was an Alpha male. Our life mission at the time was for each of us to have girlfriends. At the skating rink he had found a girl willing to set me up with her friend. We’ll call the friend Samantha. This girl told my neighbor she wanted to set me up with Samantha and my neighbor was overjoyed. When I saw Samantha I was repulsed by her appearance; yet my neighbor’s excitement left such an impression on me that I asked her to be my girlfriend and she accepted.

I expressed my remorse to my neighbor the next day and it turned out he had thought I’d been set up with a different Samantha. I called Samantha and ended that relationship at the first opportunity.

Often before a relationship has a chance to become a relationship a parent, a best friend, or other Alpha type is sought for permission. That prevents relationships and even dates from being possible. The way it should work is the opposite. Two people should decide between themselves if they should have a relationship. If they have been in a relationship for a while then the Alphas can meet them and determine if that relationship is a good idea.
